"I'm a perfectionist, and I'm working on that..." 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♂️

Far too often, we get stuck in a loop, wanting to do things well and not cut corners.

Pride tells us if we do it right, things will work perfectly, and we won't feel the sting of failure.

Imagine our surprise when things don't work out despite painstakingly ensuring correctness.

For a time, it left me paralyzed, not wanting to release any version of myself until it was perfect.

I asked one question over and over.

What is wrong?
What is keeping me from what I want?
How can I improve so failure never happens again?
Searching for a problem will always keep you from a solution.

My solution.

Improve the creative process until I make great things, rather than perfecting one thing until I'm happy.

This change helps me not pin up my hopes and dreams for tomorrow and frees me to seek to create them today.

Josh Terry's video inspired this realization, and I wanted to share it with you. Check it out. He's been making some killer videos lately.

Doing something well

Share your thoughts in the comments. I'm curious how everyone else works out their perfectionism.

💡
TLDR; If something is wrong, deal with it. Just don't get better at dealing with problems than creating solutions.
